A trip report collection from backyard adventures across New Zealand’s lower South Island.

If you are someone like me who loves some outdoor adventure, but not too extreme, check out this collection of trip reports as a source of information for your trip planning.

The reports here range between basic off-trail hikes of a few hours, up to multi-day introductory mountaineering missions.

This could be a resource for you if you are already very comfortable creating your own off-trail missions, are able to navigate confidently, and are capable of managing yourself in moderate technical and steep terrain. Some exposure to basic mountaineering or rock climbing is helpful for some of the trips here.

Enjoy!
